       Pay Range: Minimum and maximum pay range to be paid for this position.

(4) JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Provide on site administrative support for the Washington State Achievers Scholars program.  Assist the College Preparatory Advisor at West Valley High School, with: maintenance of mentor/mentee files to insure required forms are present and complete; maintain data bases and mailing lists; assist with the preparation of recruitment and training materials; provide assistance with special events such as celebrations or motivational programs; assist with fostering a strong community/school partnership.

Gain valuable work experience in a professional, non- profit, work environment.   Develop organizational, communication (written and oral) and multitasking skills.  Gain knowledge of administering a scholarship program and school-based mentorship program.  Work is accomplished in an educational environment at the public schools and through networking with community and business leaders and school faculty/staff.

 

(6) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (What skills must a student possess prior to filling this job?)

Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Publisher, and Word).  Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.  Ability to work under pressure and on deadline.  Strong communication skills (verbal and written), to deal with a wide variety of persons (teenagers, retired people, elected officials, private industry executives, etc). Ability to maintain confidentiality. Creativity and problem solving skills.  Pleasant and professional demeanor.  Previous office experience preferred.
