Criminal Justice
These programs use an interdisciplinary approach to understand criminal justice agencies, the nature of law and social control, the use of research to create change, and deviant behavior. Students graduate prepared to lead in law enforcement, court administration, corrections, and academia.
- MA in Criminal Justice: Conduct and evaluate the applied research used by criminal justice professionals. The MA program prepares students to meet the primary needs of the criminal justice system, as well as PhD study.

PhD
in Criminal Justice: Advances knowledge of societal issues associated
with crime, the work of criminal justice professionals, and the impact public
policy decisions have on the criminal justice system. Offered in conjunction
with WSU Pullman. Portions of the program are to be completed at the WSU Pullman
campus.
Education
Education programs available at WSU Spokane prepare teachers and administrators for 21st-century challenges, open the world of education to people seeking career change, supply opportunities for both research and practical experience, and train students to be leaders.

Field-Based Principal’s Certification: Prepares educators to meet the
challenges that principals face in the 21st century. Credits may be applied
toward the Master of Education.
- Field-Based Superintendent’s Certification: Addresses superintendent preparation, leadership standards, facilitation of change, and board relationships. Credits may be applied toward the Doctor of Education.
- Master of Education: Trains students to lead in K–12 schools, higher education, and settings such as business, industry, military, and health professions.*
- Master in Teaching: Helps individuals who hold baccalaureate degrees in fields outside education to become K–8 teachers.*

Professional Teacher Certification: Advances residency-certified
teachers toward Professional Certificate. It may be combined with the Master of
Education.

Program Administrator Certification: Designed to prepare educators for
the leadership challenges faced by program administrators. Credits may be
applied toward the Master of Education.
- School Psychologist Certification: The only post-master’s school psychology certification in Washington State, this program helps alleviate the critical need for K–12 psychologists by preparing students who hold master’s of education or counseling to act in that capacity.
- Doctor of Education: A statewide program that prepares students to become K–12 administrators in public or private educational programs.*
*Offered in conjunction with WSU Pullman. Portions of the program are to be completed at the WSU Pullman campus.
Engineering and Technology Management
The METM program provides professionals who work with engineers, scientists, and technicians with the tools vital to leadership in technically-based industries. Business and engineering employees learn together, and mastery of the practical curriculum often provides immediate on-the-job improvements.
- Engineering Management Certificates: Develop professional knowledge and skills in general engineering management, six sigma quality management, project management, manufacturing leadership, constraints management, supply chain management, and construction project management.
- Master of Engineering and Technology Management: Provides professionals with the knowledge, tools, and leadership skills vital to engineering and technology organizations.
Health Policy and Administration
The HPA program prepares students to become health service administrators and community health policy leaders. As a CAHME-accredited program with high distinctions, a national leader in health finance education, and the seat of a Boeing Distinguished Professorship, the HPA program offers students rare opportunities to learn from top scholars and mentors from the profession.

Master of Health Policy and Administration: Prepares health care
managers to exercise professional leadership in health organizations and
systems.
Interdisciplinary Design Institute
WSU Spokane is home to the Interdisciplinary Design Institute—an organization unique among design and construction schools in the U.S.—where students and faculty from architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture collaborate with each other in professional studio facilities.

Master
of Architecture: Focuses on the study of site design, structures,
technology, history and theory. Graduates qualify for the state architecture
licensing exam.
- MS in Architecture: Provides advanced study and research—within an interdisciplinary context—of issues surrounding the design of the built environment. Does not lead to registration as a licensed architect.

MA
in Interior Design: Focuses, in an interdisciplinary setting, on
advanced study and research of the relationship between human behavior and
interior environments.
- MS in Landscape Architecture: Within an interdisciplinary educational context, this degree advances knowledge of landscape architecture and planning in the Northern Rocky Mountain Bioregion.
- Doctor of Design: Advances the art and science of design through interdisciplinary inquiry, critical synthesis, and problem solving.
Pharmacotherapy
Students who enroll in the accredited professional Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program begin their studies at WSU Pullman and complete them in Spokane, where they have valuable opportunities to learn in both classroom and clinical settings.- Doctor of Pharmacy: Prepares graduates for administering pharmaceutical care in multiple patient and health care settings.
Speech and Hearing Sciences
ASHA-accredited, this program combines science with clinical practice, preparing you to meet the diagnostic and therapy needs of children and adults with a wide array of disorders. Students enjoy individual attention from recognized scholars, an outstanding internship program, and the latest in technology.
- MA in Speech and Hearing Sciences: Centers on the diagnostic and therapy needs of children and adults with speech, language, learning, and hearing disorders.
