American Business Women's Association
- Must be US citizen and attending an accredited college or university within a 100 mile radius of Spokane
- Must have completed freshman year and have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Studying general education, K–12
- Scholarship must be used for tuition and/or textbooks.

American Indian Foundation Scholarships
- Applicants must be Native American students from a state or federally recognized tribe, be full-time undergraduates, and plan to attend a two- or four-year college, university, or vocational school.

Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship
Four $10,000 scholarships for female students in the computer sciences during the 2006–07 academic year. Scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates' academic background and demonstrated leadership. A group of female undergraduate and graduate student finalists will be chosen from the applicant pool. The scholarship recipients, selected from the finalists, will each receive a $10,000 scholarship.
All finalists will be invited to visit Google headquarters in Mountain View, California for a networking retreat in which they can meet and share their experiences. The retreat will include workshops with a series of speakers, panelists, breakout sessions and social activities.
Candidates must:
- Be entering their senior year of undergraduate study or be enrolled in a graduate program in at a university in the U.S.
- Be Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field majors.
- Be enrolled in full-time study
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or 4.5 on a 5.0 scale or equivalent in their current program.

Association for Advancement of Cost Engineering

Association for Institutional Research
As part of its contract to improve the quality of
institutional research in U.S. postsecondary education
systems and hence, AIR announces a new national
graduate fellowship program funded by the National
Center for Education statistics (NCES). The fellowships
are for graduate study advancing or leading to careers
in institutional research, thereby increasing the
national level of expertise of institutional research
officers and the data that they produce. Specific
program goals are to have more people better trained in
IR and completing advance degrees. Fellowships will be
awarded for credit-bearing graduate study at various
degree levels, with different levels of funding. The
annual mix of proposals will determine how many of each

Full time doctoral students: maximum $30,000 over a
three-year period ($10,000 per year). No full-time
awards will be made to first-time graduate students
with no IR work experience.
Part-time graduate students: maximum $9,000 over
three-year period ($3,000 per year). Part-time students
could move to full-time and apply for an increased
award. Part-time awardees may re-compete at the end of
three-year period.

Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority (Spokane Regional Council)
Three $500 scholarships will be awarded to qualifying students. Information and applications are available in the Student Affairs office (SAC 130). Application packet and transcripts must be postmarked on or before April 19.
Blinded Veterans Association
Six $1000 scholarships will be awarded to dependent children and/or spouses of blinded veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Applications are available by mailing The Kathern F. Catching the Dream Native American Scholarship
Available to high-achieving students who are at least 1/4 degree Native American and are enrolled members of a U.S. tribe. Student must have a high GPA, have a high ACT and/or SAT score, and be attending an accredited college or university on a full-time basis in the United States to be eligible for this award.
- Deadlines: March 15 for summer, April 15 for fall, and September 15 for winter.

Delay the Real World Fellowship
Delay the Real World Fellowship will award $3,000 to a twenty-something who proposes a gutsy and worthwhile adventure. The winner could be a volunteer teacher in Kenya or a white water rafting guide in Colorado; all applicants need is passion, and a plan. Easter Seals Washington Baker Scholarship
Easter Seals Washington is offering tuition scholarships for low-income single parents trying to improve their family economic istuation by optaining a college degree toward employment that will pay a living wage. Click here for details and the application.
Epsilon Sigma Alpha (Gamma Epsilon Chapter)
This $750 scholarship is offered to a "woman in transition." Requirements are that the woman must be attending a community college or university in the Inland Northwest as at least a sophomore in the fall. She must be a woman returning to college who will eventually return to the work field. Application and instructions are available in the Student Affairs office. Must be postmarked by June 10.
Emeritus Society (WSU) Awards for Undergraduate Achievement in Scholarship and Research
The Emeritus Society will grant four $500 awards for undergraduate achievement - one in Arts and Humanities, one in Biosciences, one in the Physical Sciences, and one in the Social, Economic, and Behavioral Sciences. Applications for the award will include the student's work, a letter from the applicant describing the work and its importance, a copy of the student's resume, and a letter of support from the student's mentor. The preferred form of submission is electronic, and those files should be sent to druffelc@wsu.edu. However, paper copies of the materials will be accepted if sent to Room 343 of the Owen Science and Engineering library. All applications must be received by Monday, March 9 a 4:00 pm. Foley Institute Undergraduate Scholarships
The Foley Institute was established at Washington State University in 1995 to foster civic education, public service, and public policy research in a nonpartisan, cross-disciplinary setting. They have announced the availability of up to eight undergraduate scholarships. Scholarships are available to junior and senior level students and will be in the amount of $1,000. Students in all majors are encouraged to apply.
Academic excellence and a demonstrated interest in pursuing a public service career, broadly defined, will be the primary criteria used in selecting scholarship recipients. Decisions on scholarship awards will be made by the Scholarship Committee of the Thomas S. Foley Institute. Foley Institute Graduate Fellowships
The Foley Institute was established at Washington State University in 1995 to foster civic education, public service, and public policy research in a nonpartisan, cross-disciplinary setting. They have announced the availability of up to six graduate student fellowships. These fellowships are available owing to the generous gifts of Scott and Betty Lukins, the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Foundation, and Alice O. Rice.
These fellowships each carry a $1,000 stipend and the opportunity to be involved in the programmatic activities of the Foley Institute. All full-time graduate students in good standing at Washington State University are eligible. Academic excellence and a research agenda which addresses some public policy issue or problem, broadly defined, will be the primary criteria used in selecting Fellowship recipients. Preference may be given to students who have not previously received a Foley fellowship.

Hispanic Business/Professional Association Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded to full-time college students, with a minimum 2.5 GPA and who can demonstrate involvement in the Hispanic/Latino culture and community. Awards are $500 to $2000 per academic year. Deadline is April 5. Application (PDF).

Indian Health Service Scholarship Program
Sponsored by the US Department of Health and Human Services, these scholarships are for American Indian and Alaskan Native students working on undergraduate or graduate degrees in the health professions. More information.
Inland Northwest Community Foundation
INCF provides scholarship support through a number of funds to students pursuing post-secondary education in full-time undergraduate college and vocational program. Many of these scholarships are designated for graduates of Spokane or eastern Washington high schools. More information.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship Program awards scholarships to college seniors or recent graduates to provide funding for tuition, room and board, books, and other required fees for the length of the graduate degree program, up to six years. The amount and duration of awards are based on the cost of attendance and length of the program as well as other scholarships or grants received. The maximum award per student is $50,000 per year.
All scholarship application materials must be received by the Graduate School. Up to two nominations will be forwarded to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation by the deadline for consideration. (The Foundation will not accept applications directly from the student.)
Japanese Government Scholarships
The Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle is now accepting applications for 2007 Japanese Government Scholarships for studying in Japan. US citizens living in the states of Washington, Montana, Alaska, and Northern Idaho are eligible to apply. Application forms.
Research Student Scholarship
- Deadline: Friday, June 9, 2006
- Covers a one and a half-year to two-year period of graduate research at Japanese universities. The study area must be the same field as the applicant studied or is now studying.
- Term of scholarship: April 2007 to March 2009 or October 2007 to March 2009. Includes a half-year of Japanese language training for those who need Japanese language training.
- Applicants need to be less than 35 years of age as of April 1, 2007 and must be university graduates. Those who will be graduating from a university by March or September 2007 may apply.

Korean American Scholarship Foundation
This scholarship for $2000 or more is available to students attending school in the Western United States, who have at a 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need.

The College Success Foundation awards scholarships to Washington state residents who are currently in high school or their freshman or sophomore year of college at the time of application and meet certain family income criteria. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and be planning to enroll full-time at Washington public or independent college. Scholarships are $5000 per year for up to four years.

Lilac City Business and Professional
- Awards a scholarship of $500 to any needy woman attending an accredited college or business school in the Spokane area. Must be a mature, non-traditional undergraduate and must demonstrate intention to complete her course of study.

Martinez Foundation Scholarships for Master in Teaching Students
Five $15,000 scholarships will be awarded to WSU Spokane and Pullman students in the Master in Teaching program in an effort to increase the number of under-represented students in the teaching profession. Applicants must be a student from a diverse ethnic or cultural background and be accepted into the MIT program at the WSU College of Education.
Applicants must complete a specific College of Education scholarship and the online WSU scholarship application.

Microsoft Undergraduate Scholarships
Microsoft is committed to building the pipeline of future computer scientists. Our scholarships are designed to encourage students to pursue studies in computer science and related technical disciplines. Students from across the United States, Canada, and Mexico will be awarded scholarships in recognition of their passion for software, academic excellence, and ability to make a difference in the software industry.

Military Education Scholarship
The VA Mortgage Center offers five bi-yearly $1500 scholarships to applicants who are current or prospective ROTC students OR active-duty military personnel OR honorably discharged veterans of the US military OR son or daughters of veterans or active-duty military. More information.
National Council of Jewish Women
This organization awards scholarships to needy male and female Jewish undergraduate students. Applicants must be Washington State residents. More information and applications are available in the Student Affairs office. Deadline: May 15
National Federation of the Blind
- This organization awards scholarships to legally blind students. Most are for full-time students, but some are available for part-time student's who are also employed full-time and who are going back to school to improve their professional opportunities. Several scholarships are restricted in some way, such as by field of study or gender, but many are not.
- All scholarships are awarded for academic excellence, community service, and financial need.
- Recipients of NFB scholarships need not be members of the National Federation of the Blind

Non-Documented (non-citizen) Scholarships
College-bound students who are not citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States are not eligible for State or federal financial assistance because of their immigration status. In addition, they are generally classified as international students and therefore are required to pay higher tuition and fees. However, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), has compiled a list of scholarships that are open to undocumented students.

PEO Scholars Awards
A woman is eligible for nomination by a local chapter if she:
- is a citizen of the United States or Canada at the time of nomination;
- has at least one academic year remaining to complete her graduate degree, graduate research or terminal degree masters from the date the awards are granted (August 1);
- is within two years of completing her graduate degree or advanced study or research at the time the awards are granted (August 1);
- is a full-time student at an accredited college or university;
- demonstrates academic excellence, maturity, and seriousness of purpose; and
- has clearly defined career objectives.
Local chapters can nominate students between September 1 and December 1. Students will then be mailed an application form, which includes the due date.
PEO Program for Continuing Education:
This program was established in 1973 to provide need-based grants to women in the United States and Canada whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families.
PEO Educational Loan Fund (ELF)
This fund was established in 1907 and makes loans available to qualified women who desire higher education and are in need of financial assistance. Students must be recommended by a local chapter of the PEO Sisterhood and within two years of completing her course of study. The current maximum is $9,000 at 2% interest and due six years from the date of issue.
- Applicants must be females, displaced workers/homemakers (forced into job training or retraining by job loss, divorce, etc.), and Clark County, Washington, residents.
- Applicants must be full-time students (enrolled in a minimum of twelve credits), or working at least 20 hours per week and attending school on a part-time basis (enrolled in a minimum of six credits).
- Applicants must have a current overall GPA of at least 2.5 on a scale of 4.0.
- Applicants must provide evidence of current/past community service.
PEO International Peace Scholarship Fund
- This fund was established in 1949 to provide scholarships for international women students to pursue graduate study in the United States and Canada. Deadline is January 31.

Point Foundation Higher Education Scholarships
Scholarships of up to $31,000 will be given to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students of merit who are enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs. Click here for more info. Deadline: February 9.
Pride Foundation and the Greater Seattle Business Association
Pride Foundation and the Greater Seattle Business Association (GSBA) will be awarding more than $175,000 in scholarships for the 2005–06 school year! These scholarships are for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and allied (straight and supportive of LGBT issues) students, as well as students from LGBT families. We particularly encourage applications from LGBT students of color. The scholarships are for post-secondary education (community college through graduate school) including nontraditional programs, creative study and vocational training. There are over 30 different types of scholarships available (some are for particular areas of study, while others are more broad)—but applicants only need to fill out one application. Most scholarships are open to residents of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska.

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships
Rotary International Foundation offers three types of scholarships to help defray the cost of international study. Applicants will be evaluated based on (among other things) strong academic background and objectives that will have long-term impact on their home community upon their return home.

Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships provide a flat grant of $25,000 for one academic year of study in another country.

Multi-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships help fund two years of degree-oriented study in another country of $12,500 each year.

Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships help finance either three ($12,000) or six ($17,000) months of intensive language study and cultural immersion in another country.

Scottish Rite Undergraduate Scholarship
The applicant applying for the first time must be:
- A U.S. Citizen
- A Washington State resident
- Entering third year (Junior), fourth year (Senior) or (if required for degree) fifth year undergraduate (5th year requirement must be verified by college/university).
- Attending an accredited, four year college or university in Washington State as a full time student for the full academic year. Please Note: Distance Learning and/or on-line classes will not be considered when determining your full time status.

Scottish Rite Graduate Speech Pathology Fellowship
The Scottish Rite Foundation offers Sam and Millie Hilburn Scholarships for use toward tuition costs, books and school fees, are in the amount of $5000.00 per year for a maximum of two years, or upon earning a graduate degree in the field of Childhood Language Disorders, whichever is sooner. The total number of awards given each year may vary, dependent upon funds available.
The objective of this scholarship is to aid worthy graduate candidates to become specialists in the field of Childhood Language Disorders. Successful applicants will be those who are best qualified by dedication, ambition, academic preparation, financial need and promise of outstanding performance at the advanced level.

Susan G. Komen Scholarship Award Program
This program offers college scholarships of up to $10,000 a year over a four-year period. The application is available online at www.komen.org/grants. The following ACCESS KEY is required to complete your online application: Komen. Requirements are:
- Have lost a parent to breast cancer.
- Be a high school graduate, a high school student who will graduate by June 2008, or have received the equivalent of a high school diploma. Current college students are eligible.
- Plan to attend a state-supported college or university in the state where they permanently reside.
- Have a college GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (if already attending college).
- Be no older than 25 years old by June 2008.
- Be a U.S. citizen, or documented permanent resident of the U.S.
- Never at any time have been subject to any disciplinary action by any institution or entity, including, but not limited to, any educational or law enforcement agency.
- The deadline for submission is February 1, 2008.
Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund
Applicants must:
- Be women currently residing in the United States;
- Be women who have earned a high school diploma or their GED on or before September 1996;
- Be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full- or part-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university, or vocational-technical school;
- Attend the full 2006–07 academic year and receiving a degree no earlier than May 2007; and
- Have at least two semesters (or a minimum of 24 credit hours) remaining to complete their undergraduate degree as of the beginning of the 2006 fall academic term.
- Students who have previously obtained a bachelor's degree are not eligible to apply. Application deadline is January 1 or until first 1000 applications have been received.

Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults
This National College Scholarship Program was established to support the financial needs of young adults (defined as ages fifteen to forty) whose lives have been impacted by cancer and are seeking higher education or professional school training. These $1000 competitive awards are offered through four different scholarship categories, which are selected based on differing criteria.

USDA Public Service Leaders Scholarship Program
This program offers a full-time tuition scholarship and internship to qualified individuals. More information may be found at www.hsi.usda.gov.
Washington State Foster Youth
Common Application (PDF) allows Washington State foster youth to apply for four different scholarship programs with one application.
Washington State Governor's Scholarship for Foster Youth
This scholarship was created to assist youth who emancipate from state, tribal or federally recognized foster, group or kinship care to enroll in and complete degrees or certificates at eligible colleges in Washington. It provides up to $5,000 per year and can be renewed for up to four additional years for students continuing to make satisfactory academic progress.

Yakima Valley Hearing and Speech Center
This $2000 scholarship was created to encourage applicants with hearing loss and/or communication disorders to further their education. Scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria:

- Student essay
- Financial need
