Description: Bejjani's research investigates the molecular mechanisms of hereditary eye diseases. His work focuses on primary congenital glaucoma, a severe recessive disorder that is the most common form of glaucoma in infancy. He has recently begun investigating the genetic basis of alveolar capillary dysplasia lethal abnormality that affects the developing lungs of newborns. Dr. Bejjani has seven years of experience in medical genetics and genetic counseling. He is a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and is certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics in clinical genetics, clinical cytogenetics, and molecular genetics.
