Description: Tai Chi—often referred to as “meditation in motion” is a system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. This class is for beginners and beyond, and the fee is $5 per class. Please wear comfortable attire and bring a water bottle.

Description: WSU President Elson S. Floyd signed a presidential decree Aug. 12 in which he proclaims every Friday during the academic year Crimson Spirit Day. All faculty, staff, alumni, students and supporters of WSU are encouraged to wear apparel bearing the colors or insignias of the university.

Description: Thanks to the Friends of the North Spokane County Library, you can take away fiction or non-fiction books from our “Leisure Reading” shelves. Bring it back when you’re done, or bring something someone else might like to read. Shelves are on the south wall of the third floor.

Description: The Spokane Community Network is a state family policy council that is responsible for community development planning related to at-risk children. The meetings will include discussion on a variety of topics related to supporting at-risk children in the Spokane community and the state of Washington. The Spokane Community Network meeting is open to the public.

WSU Spokane Student Affairs Brown Bag Series When: Tuesday, September 9 from Noon to 1 p.m.
Where: Riverpoint Campus, Academic Center room 147 Description: Learn how to live within your means, handle emergencies, reduce debt, and save for the future. This one-hour workshop is presented by Julie Griffith, Regional Director of Education and Community Relations for Consumer Credit Counseling Services, and will include a workbook. Description: Christine A. Tanner, The A.B. Youmans Spaulding Distinguished Professor, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) discusses the 20-year reform movement in nursing education and the significant changes in clinical education on the horizon. With more than 30 years of experience in academic nursing, Tanner is nationally recognized for her expertise in nursing education. She serves as senior editor for the Journal of Nursing Education and also was the 2005 recipient of the National League for Nursing Award for Excellence in Nursing Education Research.

Description: Students in the Exercise Physiology and Metabolism (ExMet) program in partnership with the Riverpoint Campus Wellness Collaborative will host the 4th Annual Healthy Fare. This fun annual event is free and open to the public. It is designed to educate and involve the campus and surrounding community in exploring healthy lifestyle choices and features a broad spectrum of local vendors who represent recreational activities, healthy living, nutrition, health care organizations, fitness, and more.
