Archiving your Courses

  1. First make a hard copy of your Gradebook.
    - Click on the control panel in your course
    - Click on "Gradebook"
    - Click "Download Grades" and select an option, both can be imported into Excel, save to your hard drive
    - Open up Excel, and import the gradebook, you can now customize it and print it from Excel

  2. Archive your course locally to your computer.
Go to your course, click on control panel; under course options select archive course. Then click on archive, and click submit on the next page. Blackboard will now process the request, and you will need to get back to the archive area in half an hour (depending on how large your course is) to download the zip file. You will see a link that you can right-click; after that, you can click on save as and select a good location on your computer. This will archive everything, including users and discussions. After you finished saving it to your hard drive, please remember to click the delete button next to the file as well, so the archive is removed from blackboard as well.
  3. If you don't like seeing your old courses when you login to Blackboard, use the following steps to hide them from view. We keep courses for one year and one semester on the production environment before we archive them off the system.

Click on the pencil icon in the my courses module, see below

In the following screen, uncheck both checkboxes next to the course you no longer wish to see:
