Speech & Hearing Sciences
The Speech and Hearing Sciences (SHS) programs at WSU Spokane offers students a rich educational experience, with opportunities to work with well-known scholars on current research.
A low student to faculty ratio ensures individual attention, close supervision, and academic innovation.
You will gain practical experience in many clinical and educational settings, such as working with:
- Preschool-age children with developmental disabilities
- School-age children
- College-age students with learning disabilities
- Adults with neurological disorders.
Degree Options
- Undergraduate Completion: Beginning fall 2008, students will be able to complete the final two years of the SHS bachelor's degree on the cutting-edge Riverpoint Campus.
- Master of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences
Collaborative Learning
Our programs are unique in bringing together in one location the combined faculty and resources of the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences, Washington State University, and the Communication Disorders Department, Eastern Washington University, to form University Programs in Communication Disorders (UPCD).
SHS is housed in the Health Sciences Building, a facility equipped with the latest in research labs, computer technology, and instrumentation.
