University Hearing and Speech Clinic

The University Hearing and Speech Clinic is dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of conditions that limit one's ability to communicate freely. We are an education and training facility for students preparing for careers in speech-language pathology. Services provided include screening, evaluation and rehabilitation for a broad range of communication problems.
Speech and Language Services
The University Hearing and Speech Clinic provides comprehensive evaluation and therapeutic services to adults and children for speech, language, and hearing problems. These include:
- Speech sound production errors
- Child language delay
- Stuttering and fluency disorders
- Oral motor disorders
- Voice problems
- Dysphagia (swallowing)
- Speech and language problems associated with hearing impairment
- Speech or language problems resulting from brain injury or neuromuscular disability
- Speech production errors resulting from craniofacial abnormalities
- Central auditory processing problems
- Accent reduction
- Language enrichment for preschoolers
Audiology Services
Diagnostic and rehabilitative services for children and adults include:
- Hearing assessment
- Central auditory processing testing and intervention
- Electrophysiologic testing
- Hearing aid assessment and dispensing
- Electroacoustic analysis of hearing aids
- Consultation for assistive listening devices and signaling systems
- Speechreading
- Auditory training
Enrollment
- The Clinic enrolls clients for speech and language therapy according to the university calendar for the fall, winter, spring, or summer sessions. Individual therapy sessions are typically scheduled for 50 minutes, two to five times per week.
- Audiology appointments are scheduled as needed.

Clinicians and Fees
- Master's level students in University Programs in Communication Disorders—training to become professional speech, language, or hearing specialists—provide all evaluation and therapy services under the direct supervision of nationally certified faculty.
