Interdisciplinary Design Institute

Academics

The Interdisciplinary Design Institute brings together faculty and students from all design disciplines for a one-of-a-kind opportunity in higher learning and discovery.

Here students master their craft as they work closely with renowned professors and benefit from an education where academics, research, and hands-on learning are interdependent.

Spacious studio facilities and the Spokane region—at once historic, urban, and close to nature—provide students with an ideal working environment.

Graduate Programs

Our graduate programs offer opportunities for individuals seeking career changes to gain the knowledge necessary to enter design professions, and for practicing professionals to further their education through advanced research and specialization.

Graduate students explore advanced theory, problem-solving techniques, and individual research initiatives while pursuing degrees in architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design.

The Doctor of Design allows individuals well-versed and professionally advanced in a design profession seeking to make collaborative, original contributions to their fields.

Undergraduate Programs

The Design Institute offers undergraduate students the opportunity to spend their third, fourth and/or fifth years in Spokane after beginning their programs on the Pullman campus, Bellevue Community College, or Spokane Falls Community College.

At the Design Institute, they benefit from collaboration across disciplines, internationally recognized faculty, and Spokane's urban setting.
