Program requirements & application procedures
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field, with a GPA of at least 3.0 or better during the last half of undergraduate work and with a GPA of 3.00 or better in all prerequisite coursework.
Application to the program requires submission of application materials to both the WSU Graduate School (located on the Pullman campus) and to the Exercise Science graduate program at WSU Spokane.

WSU Graduate School application
1. Graduate School application form
- Online application is recommended. The Exercise Science program will automatically receive a copy of your online application. Note: it is not necessary to send a paper copy of the application if you have applied online.
- If you prefer to use a paper application, you may print an application or request to receive one by mail. If using the paper application, mail copies to both the WSU Graduate School and to the Exercise Science program.
- Note: be sure to check "Spokane campus" on your application form!
2. Pay the application fee of $35
- Online applicants use VISA or MasterCard
- For paper applications, attach a check or money order for $35, payable to Washington State University.
3. Official Transcripts: Request a copy of official transcripts be sent directly from each college previously attended to the WSU Graduate School.
4. Graduate Record Exam Test Score (recommended, not required): If you choose to include the GRE as part of your application, request that your official GRE score be mailed by the Educational Testing Service directly to the WSU Graduate School, Institution code 4705. Scores must be less than five years old.
5. International Applicants Only:
- TOEFL Score: Request that your official TOEFL score be mailed by the Educational Testing Service directly to the WSU Graduate School, Institution code 4705. Scores must be less than two years old.
- Certificate of Financial Responsibility: This is a crucial element of your application—please be sure to read directions carefully. Contact the Graduate School at gradsch@wsu.edu if you have any questions about the form.

Exercise Science application for WSU Spokane
1. Copy of Graduate School Application
- Online version will be automatically copied to Exercise Science at WSU Spokane (no further action required by applicant).
- If using the paper application, mail a copy to WSU Spokane.
2. Official Transcripts: Request a copy of official transcripts be sent directly from each college previously attended to the attention of Erin Kincaid-McIntosh, Program Assistant, at the address listed below.
3. Goals Statement: Write a statement of your professional goals and why you are interested in attending WSU Spokane's program.
4. Letters of Recommendation: Three letters of recommendation addressed to Dr. Sally E. Blank, Graduate Coordinator, and written by academic professors and/or clinical supervisors. Have your recommendations sent to Erin Kincaid-McIntosh.
5. Graduate Record Exam Test Scores (recommended, not required): If you choose to include the GRE as part of your application, mail a copy of your GRE test scores (no more than five years old).
6. International Applicants Only: Mail a copy of your TOEFL score (must be less than two years old).
