Information for prospective students

MA application requirements

Students wishing to pursue the MA graduate program must apply to both the Graduate School and the Department of Interior Design.

 

MA applications

The MA program only accepts applicants for each fall semester. The next semester for which we are accepting applications is Fall 2010.

Priority consideration deadline: January 10

Please note all application materials must be received by the deadline to be considered.  Late applications from domestic students will be considered on a space available basis. Late applicants are not eligible for graduate assistantships.

BA application requirements

Students wishing to certify into the Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design program must complete a minimum of 45 semester hours and receive a C or better in the following eight courses: I D 101, 102, 197, 201, 203, 205, 215, 297, or transfer equivalents as approved by the department.

 

Transfer students

Transfer students from an approved community college must attend a summer immersion studio and pass a final portfolio review before beginning the fourth year at WSU Spokane.

BA/MA (4+1) program

WSU Spokane offers an exciting BA/MA Interior Design Articulation program (4+1) that enables students to complete both a professional undergraduate degree and a graduate degree in interior design in five years.

Qualified students may apply for entry into an articulated BA/MA degree program the last year of undergraduate study at WSU that leads to a master's degree completed in one year of graduate study. The BA/MA degree is a non-thesis degree and culminates in a design project.

 

4+1 applications

  • Application deadline Friday, November 20, 2009. Late applications will NOT be accepted.
  • Informational Meeting to be held Wednesday, October 14, 2009, 12:00 P.M. - 1:00 P.M. in SCLS 148.

Summer Studio

All students accepted to the three-year program will be required to enroll in a summer (June and July) immersion studio prior to entering the first fall semester.
