Program News
- The Department has received information about the
U.S. Navy's Health Services Collegiate Program. If you would like to be
guaranteed a position upon graduation working in health care administration for
the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps (making $44,560 per year to start) and you
want to get paid by the Navy while you are in school, you may want to consider
getting additional information about this program! Beginning October 1, 2005
they will be accepting applications from students who will be graduating between
Oct 1, 2007 and Sept 30, 2008. If you are interested in receiving additional

The WSU ACHE student chapter has had
a very active year. The final project of the year included development of
a mentorship program, matching HPA students with community healthcare leaders.

Academy for Health Services Research and Health Policy, announces seminars in
health services research methods. Check out what they offer online at

- Career and Personal Counseling Services at WSU Spokane - Jack Severinghaus
is WSU Spokane's resident student counselor and psychologist. Jack is
available to help students with personal or academic stress, so that they
continue to achieve and progress towards their academic goals. Jack also
provides career counseling, to help with career decisions, and, along with
Jane Kinkel in Student Services, offers resume reviews and job search
consultation.

is a new online career development resource service sponsored by the Institute
for Diversity in Health Management. Their service provides ethnically
and racially diverse candidates and employers with an alternative connection
in the rapidly growing world of web-based human resource management.
DiversityConnection.org provides services to link health professionals with
each other and to job opportunities across the country; connect diverse
individuals to leadership and mentoring programs in a variety of health care
settings; and aid in the job search as a database for racially and ethnically
diverse management candidates in health care management.
