The graduate program in Clinical and Experimental Exercise Science prepares students for accelerated professional advancement and for further academic study.  Exercise science students are trained for positions in rehabilitation and clinical agencies as well as for graduate school and advanced research.

The graduate degree prepares students for testing and certification in clinical physiology by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the premier certifying body for clinical, health, and fitness standards. The degree will service individuals wanting to start a career in clinical exercise physiology, medical and allied health professionals who wish to enhance their skills and training, and professionals seeking a career change in fields aligned with clinical physiology. The degree will also serve graduates with a bachelor's degree and medical and allied health professionals who want to obtain research training with an emphasis in exercise physiology.

Examples of Careers a M.S. in Exercise Science will prepare for:

Clinical Exercise Physiology (non-thesis option or thesis option)

  • Clinical Exercise Physiologist
  • Clinical Research Technician
  • Sport Medicine Exercise Specialist

Experimental Exercise Physiology (thesis option)
