Bachelor
of Science
The
four-year, pre-professional Bachelor of Science in
Architectural Studies degree is useful to those wishing a foundation
in the field of architecture, as preparation for either continued
education in a professional degree program or for employment options
in the fields related to architecture.
The BS Arch degree is not accredited by the National
Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and
does not prepare graduates
for architectural registration.
Students interested in pursuing the BS Arch
degree must begin in the
School of
Architecture on the Pullman campus.
Master
of Architecture (M.Arch)
The School of Architecture and Construction
Management offers an accredited (NAAB)
Master of Architecture degree. Once completed, this degree allows
students to participate in an architect internship program and
qualify for the State Architecture Licensing exam. The Master of Architecture is
offered at both the Spokane and
Pullman campuses.
Master of Science
Different from the M.Arch, the
Master of Science in Architecture degree
usually appeals to individuals who already possess a professional
degree in architecture or a related design discipline, although it
is not limited to this audience. The MS Arch program prepares
students to take on
research and design issues in a collaborative interdisciplinary
setting; to gain advanced knowledge in a specific area of one's
professional field; and to prepare for teaching and doctoral
studies.
