When do classes meet?

Skills for law enforcement careers

“I gained tremendous insights from faculty and students that helped me successfully address our goals. Careers in law enforcement demand intellectual tools that higher education can enhance: critical thinking, ability to relate to and work with people from all backgrounds, and ability to develop and evaluate problem-solving strategies.”
— John Goldman (’96), Director, Western Regional Institute for Community Oriented Public Safety; Former Sheriff, Spokane County

Tailored for both the working professional and traditional student, courses in WSU Spokane’s MA Criminal Justice meet in the early evening to accommodate both full- and part-time students.

Can I attend part-time?

Yes. The program enrolls a mix of working professionals and full-time traditional students.

    The program gave me a different perspective

    “The well-rounded instructional approach offered by the program really enhanced my understanding of the criminal justice system. The program doesn’t just focus on police, but covers court systems, court agencies, and other outside agencies. It truly gave me a different perspective of police in the society that we live in.”

    — Gary Kuntz (‘98), Crime Analyst, City of Spokane Police Department

  • An undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.00 (with particular attention to the last two years of the baccalaureate program) or a graduate GPA of at least 3.30 for 12 semester credit hours at a recognized graduate school;
