WSU to Host Renowned Philosopher of Science, Mind  --External

Holland and Potter Lecture
Available via Live Videoconference at WSU Spokane

Washington State University will host renowned philosopher Daniel C. Dennett for the joint 2008 Holland and Potter Lecture. Dennett will present “From Animal to Person: How Cultural Evolution Builds Human Minds” at 7:30 p.m. on September 11. Please join us for a live videoconference of this presentation on the Riverpoint Campus in the Academic Center room 20 at 600 N Riverpoint Blvd., Spokane.

This event, sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Department of Philosophy, is free and open to the public.

Event parking is available at the meters in the green parking lots, in the Pay and Display lot located just off of Spokane Falls Boulevard to the west of the South Campus Facility, or by purchasing a permit through Parking Operations in the South Campus Facility behind the Bookie at 412 E. Spokane Falls Blvd.

This seminar coordinated by Washington State University Office of Grant and Research Development and sponsored by Research and Programs of Gonzaga University will include three sessions: “Deep Strategy and Tactics,” “Enhancing Grants through Community Partnerships,” and “The Two Sides of the Coin: Enhancing Your Grant Writing Skills by Reviewing Proposals.”

Spokane Graduate Grant Writing Workshop  --External

Cost: This workshop is free to WSU students and employees. Cost for non-WSU attendees is $20.00 payable via check or cash at the door.

This seminar coordinated by Washington State University Office of Grant and Research Development will serve as an introduction to participants to the process of competitive grant writing, to current trends in grantmaking, and to various skills and strategies that will enhance their grant writing success. Primarily designed for graduate students, but faculty, staff, and community members are also welcome.

Spokane Community Network Meeting  --External

The meetings will include discussion on a variety of topics related to supporting at-risk children in the Spokane community and the state of Washington.
