Research & Outreach

WRICOPS

Goals

Institutionalize community policing philosophy so that efforts continue beyond the life and borders of WRICOPS through

  • Training, Technical Assistance, and Applied Research

  • Developing structure and network of POST/CJTC's, law enforcement professionals, community members and government officials.

  • Integrating Community Oriented Policing (COP) principles in all levels of academy training.

The WSU land-grant philosophy of teaching, research, and public service provides a desirable organizational environment to engage a network of universities and law enforcement agencies to provide on-site regional COP training and skills development.
