World-Class Facilities and Equipment
Our
facility contains a cutting-edge laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art tools to make objective measures
of sleep and performance.
Occupying 5,000 square feet in the South Campus Facility building, the laboratory contains all the facilities needed to accommodate studies lasting many consecutive days, including four bedrooms, a central observation room, and a large common area with a kitchenette.
Adjacent to the laboratory is a clinical area that can be used both as part of the research lab (e.g., for the application of EEG electrodes) or as a separate space for the screening of research volunteers (physical exams, drawing and storing of blood).
Equipment in the lab includes:
- State-of-the-art computer workstations for cognitive performance assessment
- High-end amplifiers for polysomnographic sleep recordings and evoked response potential measurements
- Advanced near-infrared optical devices for brain metabolism monitoring
- Comprehensive audiovisual monitoring and recording
