Medical School Curriculum
First year medical classes are taught at the state university in each state, and courses are identical to those offered at the School of Medicine. Students from all sites take their second year classes at the University of Washington at Seattle.
For third and fourth year clinical courses, students have a large menu of sites to choose from, including clinical sites in all WWAMI states.

Third and Fourth Years
At the conclusion of the first two years, students enter the predominantly clinical phase of their education. During this phase, students receive a portion of their training at the UW School of Medicine and a portion from physicians in smaller communities.
The goal of the community phase clerkships is to give students an opportunity to learn about the spectrum of illnesses that exists in non-metropolitan areas and the methods of practice used by rural physicians.
