Financing Your Education
Qualified students may apply for
- assistantships,
- scholarships (e.g. Foster G. McGaw Scholarship),
- fellowships (e.g., Abbott Fellowship through the Association of University Programs in Health Administration), and
- loans from program, public, and private sources.
We provide all HPA applicants with an
application for
fellowships and assistantships and encourage them to apply.
Financial aid is available to eligible domestic students enrolled in a minimum
of six credit hours. You will need to complete and submit the
Free Application for Federal Student
Aid form to determine your eligibility. The application process can take up
to six weeks, so you are encouraged to apply early.

WICHE Western Regional Graduate Program
Our program is a member of the WICHE Western Regional Graduate Program. According to WICHE, "The Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) consists of very high quality masters and doctoral degree programs which tend not to be widely available throughout the West."
Admission of the HPA Program means that residents of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming are eligible to enroll at Washington resident rates of tuition. (Fall 2006 tuition: $3775/semester full-time; $378/credit hour part-time).
Department Research Assistantships
The HPA Department offers assistantship positions. Submit an application for assistantship to the department, along with your application for admission.
Students who apply online will have the option of submitting an online version of this form. Assistantships include tuition waiver, stipend and health insurance benefit.
U.S. Navy Health Services Collegiate Program
If you would like to be guaranteed a position upon graduation working in health care administration for the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps (making $44,560 per year to start) and you want to get paid by the Navy while you are in school, you may want to consider getting additional information about this program!
Beginning October 1, 2005, they will accept applications from students who will graduate between October 1, 2007, and September 30, 2008.
